Gregory Ethan McDougall
Makeup Effects Artist
Once bitten by the makeup FX bug in his mid-teens, Ohio-born Greg McDougall immediately knew that he had discovered his life-long career. Inspired by a steady stream of horror and sci-fi movies and a love for monsters, the early 90s would be a proving ground for Greg as he practiced his craft for haunted attractions, local theater, and independent films.
Greg moved to Los Angeles in 2003 and worked for some of Hollywood’s top makeup FX shops including Stan Winston Studios, KNB Effects, and Greg Cannom Studios. The resume grew steadily as invaluable experience was gained on high-profile productions such as Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds, The Chronicles of Narnia, Doom, Apocalypto and dozens of other projects.
In 2017, after nearly 15 years on the west coast, Greg accepted the Key Effects Artist and Sculptor position on the Atlanta-based Netflix series THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE. Permanently based in Georgia, he worked extensively with BOB KURTZMAN MUFX STUDIOS, leaving his artistic mark on films such as DOCTOR SLEEP, JAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOT, and the Tom Holland drama CHERRY. During this time, Greg also freelanced for the wildly popular TV series THE WALKING DEAD and STRANGER THINGS.
Now established as one of Atlanta’s most experienced makeup FX artists, Greg owns and runs Anomaly FX Atlanta, a full-service makeup effects and special props studio which offers top-notch creations, unwavering professionalism, and boundless enthusiasm for each and every project.

Need bodies? Body parts? We’ve got all that plus internal organs, bones, corpses, and stunt weapons for rental usage. Need blood or slime or mud? Order some of our custom products. And if you need something we don’t have, we’ll make it!
On-set Application
We’re just as skilled on the set as we are in the shop. And we’ll be there to bring life to your creations with full prosthetic application (and removal).
